Case Study 1 - Advanced Surgical Direct
Industry: Medical Supplies Distribution

Situation - Advanced Surgical Direct of Mammoth Lakes, CA is a distributor of medical supplies. Their customers wanted them to provide a Business to Business online method of order entry. Advanced Surgical also wanted to have a total back end managed from their own web based Intranet.

Solution - S & R created an Intranet for them which allows Advanced Surgical to upload their physicians and medical supplies catalog of 15,000 products. From this catalog, the Advanced Surgical sales reps can select products to quote for their customers. The quotes developed by the sales reps can be printed or emailed to the customers. These quotes become the master pricing lists for the Extranet which S & R also developed as an integrated part of the web based solution. The Advanced Surgical customers can log in to the Extranet to view their own private quotes for the medical products. The customers can also place orders online.

Results - Advanced Surgical customers now save many hours of tedious order entry work with an easy to use online order entry system designed to minimize the customer effort in placing orders. Orders are now placed with greater accuracy and can be processed more efficiently by Advanced Surgical on the back end.  The back end Intranet for Advanced Surgical allows them to process purchase orders to their suppliers. It handles all order invoicing and accounts receivable. It provides comprehensive sales tax reports by county for California sales tax.  It also allows Advanced Surgical to process EDI transactions with their 3rd party order fulfillment and warehousing supplier.
